Artist Theng Sea Way Chinese Calligraphy Workshop

Theng Sea Way (丁士伟) is a Malaysian Chinese calligraphy artist born in Johor Bahru in 1976. ​Deeply influenced by Chinese education and culture since childhood, he developed a passion for traditional arts, especially Chinese calligraphy. His calligraphy works have been showcased internationally, having been invited to exhibitions in many countries​ – including prominent art events across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and China (with showcases in Indonesia, Singapore, Dubai, Beijing, and more. This global exposure highlights Theng’s standing as an accomplished artist on the international stage.

Beyond his personal artistry, Theng Sea Way holds esteemed positions in the art community. He serves as a committee member of the Malaysia International Modern Calligraphy & Art Alliance and as Deputy Director of the national calligraphy research & education committee​, reflecting his leadership in the field. He has mentored students in the art of Chinese calligraphy for over 15 years​. His dedication to teaching has nurtured a new generation of calligraphers. Moreover, Theng is frequently invited to judge national and regional calligraphy competitions – he even served as a chief judge supervisor for a major national calligraphy championship​ – underscoring his reputation as a master calligrapher and trusted authority in the calligraphy community.
