On December 1, 2024, the eagerly awaited ceramics exhibition Clay Affection, Pottery Expressions will open its doors, inviting art lovers on a journey into the heart of ceramic artistry, Featuring the remarkable works of Master Potter Peter Low Hwee Min and 45 of his talented proteges from Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia, this exhibition transcends the boundaries of art, showcasing the passion, heritage, and intimate connection bet\veen artists and clay.
Master Potter Peter Low, born in 1943 in the serene town of Muar, Johor, Malaysia, is a name synonymous with excellence in ceramics. A visionary artist and teacher, Master Potter Peter Low artistic odyssey b_egan at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, where he mastered Western painting and sculpture. His journey led him to the UK, where he delved into the world of ceramics at the West Surrey College of Art and Design, graduating with first-class honors. Returning to Malaysia in 1974, he established his own pottery studio, planting seeds that would grow mto a thriv:ing legacy of ceramic artistry across Southeast Asia. Through his work and teaching m Singapore and Taiwan, he has become a guiding light in the ceramics co=unity.
Master Potter Peter Low artistry is a harmonious blend of Eastern and Western influences, a testament to his ability to balance tradition with innovation. His works have graced the galleries of Malaysia, Singa{>ore, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Brunei, earning him a place among the greats.
